Nintendo has given its fans a huge heap of news already this year with their Nintendo Direct event. However it seems that the company is not done setting up the stage for 2018 to be a huge year for the Switch. The company revealed yesterday a whole new experience fore the hybrid console called Nintendo Labo.
A trailer was shown that introduced the strange yet inviting cardboard counterparts called Toy Cons that will be coming along with the game itself. These cardboard pieces can be used to create a variety of accessories that are essential to playing the line of games that come with Nintendo Labo.
The game certainly takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch’s design. The Joy Cons will be detached and placed inside the accessories that players will create, and then the user will literally use their creations to do many things such as play a piano recital, ride a motor bike, go fishing, or go on a rampage as a giant transforming robot!
As far as purchasing these Toy Cons goes, there will be two separate bundles sold: the Variety Kit, which is $70.00, and the Robot Kit, which is $80.00. Both of these kits will be available on April 20 in the US and Australia, and April 27 in Europe. There will also be a separate customization set sold so players can really get creative with their Toy Cons. Nintendo is also offering a chance for some fans to get to try out the product ahead of its launch event if they happen to live in New York City or San Francisco by entering an application here.
