Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn Revealed, Coming 2027

World of Darkness is a gothic-punk shared universe based on horror, where supernatural creatures like werewolves, vampires, and mages live in secret among humans. This is the world in which Vampire: The Masquerade takes place. Well, on the 7th of May, during NACON Connect, an indie studio named Crea-ture Studios INC revealed a new game in the World of Darkness franchise titled Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn, where you will be taking the role of a werewolf. Along with the reveal, a trailer for the early alpha build of the game was showcased. Currently, there is no confirmed date for the game. It’s only known to be coming in 2027. You can wishlist now on all consoles and PC via Steam.
So many of you may be wondering what Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn is. Well, the game is an action-packed Metroidvania for a mature audience set in the World of Darkness universe. As mentioned before, the team behind it is a small indie studio based in Canada, Crea-ture Studios INC. The game itself is set in the wilds of Alaska, and there you will be able to recruit allies and add them to your ranks in order to upgrade and craft your equipment. Some gameplay features include controlling and mastering the three forms of GAROU. These forms are Homid, your human form, and will primarily deal with long-range weapons and high mobility. Lupus, your wolf form, you will be swift and agile, mainly used for exploration and stealth. And for your third form, Crinos- The ultimate form, this form is pure destruction. You can unleash devastating close-range combos and smash through obstacles in your path.

Some other features of the game include RPG customization and Visceral combat. The game has an organic progression system that lets you create your own builds, so explore the world and collect mystical roots to deepen your bond with Gaia and unlock new and unique powers. The game also features brutal, visceral combat and enemies such as other supernatural foes, Lethe Lab mercenaries, and Pentex Machines that adapt to your fighting style, forcing you to pick and choose the right form. You will also be able to explore an interconnected world that’s chock full of secrets. And finally, you will be able to build your own Den, recruit other werewolves, so you aren’t fighting alone, and so you can craft and upgrade your equipment.

With this announcement, the World of Darkness universe is growing once again in the gaming sphere. Earlier this year, a new Vampire: The Masquerade was announced for later this year, which also takes place in this universe. It’s always good for franchises to grow and branch out using other assets. It’s also great that an indie team is behind this game, as new developers are allowed to make their own bite in the gaming industry and hopefully knock it out of the park with this new big title. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a while for this title, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn, which isn’t slated until sometime next year, but in the meantime, why not try your hand at exploring the World of Darkness franchise, as it’s not only video games. Either way, we will have to wait and see what more these developers will showcase for this new game.

Having been exposed to storytelling for so long, I have been influenced, and through that influence, I seek to write and create my own stories that others can enjoy and that I can be proud of.
