The tale of WB Games could possibly be one of tragedy or hubris depending on your viewpoint. In 2023 WB released Hogwarts Legacy, an impossibly popular game and the best selling single player game of 2023. With a bevy of popular trendy IPs that could rival if not surpass Hogwarts like Mortal Kombat and the entirety of DC Comics as a whole, it really looked like WB were on the road to being the next big juggernaut of the gaming industry. Unfortunately, due to their pivot towards live service titles it seems that WB Games have taken a turn for the worse. After the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League last year, it looks like the other DC property, Wonder Woman, is left blowing in the wind.
The ‘WONDER WOMAN’ game has been rebooted during development & has already cost more than $100M.
The game is still years away from release, “if it ever makes it to market”

We hear corporations throw massive amounts of money around constantly but make no mistake, $100 million is an insane amount of money, and a massive investment from WB. For them to pump that much money into a title only for it to be unsure if it’ll ever even release is mind blowing. As per this article by Bloomberg:
One of the company’s biggest bets in development, a video game based on Wonder Woman, has struggled to coalesce, according to people familiar with the project. Early last year, it was rebooted and switched directors. The game has already cost more than $100 million, said the people who asked not to be identified discussing nonpublic information, and is still years away from release, if it ever makes it to market.
So, not great news to start 2025 on for Warner Brothers. It’ll be interesting to see if WB will put more money into this project to see it actually release, or if they’ll cut their losses and shelf the project entirely to stem the bleeding somewhat.
