Not beating the “Arcane Fighter” allegations, League of Legends’ resident werewolf Warwick’s official trailer has dropped for Riot Games’ 2XKO fighting game, though you probably already knew that considering Warwick was leaked last week, but still, act surprised!
Warwick seems to be a very aggressive rushdown character, with his moveset focused around a special bloodlust meter above his super meter that fills as he deals damage with throws and supers giving him a huge amount of bloodlust. With hit grabs to side switch opponents, a wall cling, a ground invulnerable leap, and the aforementioned bloodlust meter encouraging him to be aggressive, Warwick is looking to be one of the most aggressive characters introduced into 2XKO so far. In keeping with the constant Marvel vs. Capcom references from 2XKO, one of Warwick’s supers is a direct reference to Spider-Man’s Maximum Spider super from that iconic tag series (or Wesker’s Maximum Wesker if you’ve only played Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and never saw Spider-Man).
Though this is all just speculation on my part, you can actually experience Warwick yourself for free right now if you want to. 2XKO is currently in early access, but don’t let that term fool you, we’re essentially in “Season 0” and the game is basically out right now. You can download it on PC for free right here and the only price you have to pay is installing Riot’s launcher.
Now, I know a lot of people despair at 2XKO’s roster, which is fair, but this is clearly a game that’s dug in its heels for the long haul. While Warwick is an Arcane character he’s still on the weirder side of the League of Legends cast, and no doubt we’ll be seeing more exciting non-human weirdos like Thresh or Tahm Kench in future seasons and patches. Until then, try the game out for yourself if it interests you.
