Warner Bros. Games launched a new Harry Potter game digitally this Tuesday. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a new multiplayer game based on Quidditch, the popular broomstick-riding sport in the Harry Potter franchise.
Developed by Unbroken Studios, players will be able to take part in the Triwizard Schools Quidditch Cup for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, or in the international teams of Beauxbatons Academy or Durmstrang Institute. Eventually, winning enough matches will get players to experience the Quidditch World Cup.
According to the press release, players can customize their character and choose between the Beater, Chaser, Keeper, or Seeker Quidditch player positions. Players can also play as popular Harry Potter characters including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy and more. Additionally, players can experience Quidditch matches solo, or with friends and strangers online.
Warner Bros Games and Unbroken Studios shared their excitement at the games release in separate statements.
“The team is honored to launch Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and finally share our take on the beloved sport of Quidditch,” said Unbroken Studios CEO Paul Ohanian. “We’re incredibly excited for players to take flight over our renditions of classic and never-before-seen Quidditch pitches, team up with friends in co-op and multiplayer, and experience all the wizarding world details we’ve poured into the game.”
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is availably digitally for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
