We are in an age where couch co-op games aren’t the norm. With the launch of the Nintendo Switch, more studios are being pushed to take advantage of its local multiplayer capabilities. One such studio has done just that, and have created the local and online co-op ARPG, Warlocks 2: God Slayers.
In Warlocks 2: God Slayers, players can choose between one of five different Warlocks, who are tech-savvy witches who use their smartphones to cast spells. Up to four people can play together, either locally or online to dish out some killer spells against vicious foes and gods. Along this adventure, there will be more than 40 enemy types to slay, more than 45 numerous abilities to utilize, and unlock over 100 upgrades in order to take on even greater challenges. To add to the excitement, the upcoming title will have over 120 items for your characters to equip.
The game will also come with a plethora of pop-culture references scattered throughout the explorable three worlds. Also added to these worlds are procedurally generated side-quests, which means that there will always be something to do. Warlocks 2: God Slayers is a sequel to 2015’s Warlocks vs. Shadows, a mixed-bag of a game. While its prequel might not have had the biggest impact, the sequel is definitely shaping up to be something special, especially since the game will have some new, awesome looking pixel art.
“Warlocks 2 presents an exhilarating spread of multidimensional travel, side-scrolling adventure and hack ‘n’ slash combat,” said Krzysztof Krej, chairman of the board of Frozen District, in a press release. “It’s the perfect blend of humor and action to share with friends.”
Warlocks 2: God Slayers will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch and on Steam sometime in October of this year for $19.99. In addition, a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version will be available for download sometime in Q1 of 2019.
