Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Leaked Ahead Of September Release

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactives upcoming game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was hit with a major leak. According to fans on Reddit, the game’s fully-playable pre-release build was leaked online. This leak occured just two months away from the game’s official release date, a disappointment for its developers.

Insider Gaming noted that the could be dated back to February 2024, and despite being fully playable there were still some errors that would make gameplay slightly difficult.

Footage of the build had been uploaded to YouTube through multiple channels but most of the videos have since been taken down due to copyright violations.

In an attempt to combat the damage the leak caused for its developers, Focus Entertainment released a statement urging players to avoid any footage of the leaked build and to not spoil the game till it’s launch for those that have already seen it.

“Our teams have poured years of hard work, passion, and dedication into creating a game worthy of your hopes and expectations, and it’s dishearten that many of the surprises we worked to keep secret were spoiled,” read the statement. “We’re saddened that this build, which will be almost a year old by the time we launch, is how some of our most eager fans will first experience Space Marine 2.”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the long awaited sequel to the 2011 hack n slash game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Space Marine 2 was initially announced back in 2021 with an expectation of a 2023 launch date. Unfortunately it’s developers delayed the game’s release to 2024 to make improvements towards the game.

Currently, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is set to release this September 9th for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. For more information head over to the game’s official website and Focus Entertainment’s official social media.

Caitlyn Taylor: New media and entertainment have been apart of my life since I was very young, and I don't think that interest will ever go away. When I'm bored, I immerse myself in lore videos no matter the length.
