As a part of the Warhammer Skulls showcase, Owlcat Games has announced their first DLC pack for their 2023 RPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. The new expansion will be titled Void Shadows and comes with a multitude of new characters, archetypes, quests, and more. Owlcat revealed that the game will add an extra 15 hours of new content, as well as a release date of August 8.
Owlcat also delved deeper into what new experiences and content will be found in the Void Shadows expansion. There will be two new character archetypes with unique abilities, as well as a new romanceable companion, a Death Cult Assassin named Kibellah. New content featuring the Genestealer Cult of Warhammer 40K tabletop fame will be added, along with new upgrades and expansions to the player’s void ship. The void ships will be expanded to include new rooms such as a hangar, which can be used to send ships on missions of massive space battles and more. Additionally, new crew members “numbering thousands upon thousands of souls” will be available to join the voidship’s crew. The game will also feature “unexpected threats, various quests, unique equipment, and additional lore content”. The game’s main story will be updated to seamlessly integrate all of the new content for future playthroughs. Additionally, Owlcat confirmed at the showcase that Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is now fully supported on Steam Deck, as well as the addition of full multiplayer co-op on PC. Consoles and Mac will also be receiving multiplayer co-op in a patch coming soon. The Void Shadows DLC is available to wishlist on Steam right now, and will be available as part of the Rogue Trader Season Pass.
