Walk the Frog, a relaxing story-driven game, comes to Steam on May 21st. The game’s Steam description highlights a bit more about the game, “Guide Froggo through a world on sticky notes and relax while solving the puzzle of his journey home to find his best friend Buddy. Meet quirky animal friends, solve satisfying puzzles, help one another and relax in this cozy and heartwarming adventure with an intuitive drag-and-drop puzzle style.” 

In Walk The Frog’s official release date trailer, we see Froggo going on his adventure. From the beginning of the trailer, interaction mechanics are front and center, as Froggo is seen talking to a crane, and sticky notes are exchanged to create a pathway. Froggo walks up paths to meet other creatures, and interacts with characters that block him from continuing his walk. While Froggo meets and discusses with presumably a king, puzzles are moved around until they’re in the correct order and stars emerge from the sticky notes announcing the completion of that puzzle. 

The trailer emphasises how players have to “cooperate with the other animals” to complete the puzzles. Froggo has to interact and gain the help of other characters to get to his endpoints, as proof of this, Froggo is seen on a ride in the air thanks to another insect who takes him over the King to the remainder of the path. Froggo goes through more locations, like the dark part of the cave, in the presence of fireflies who light their way. Froggo even manages to find and do actions for other characters in the game, before he makes it to a tree with a bench. Once the tree bench puzzle is complete Froggo meets presumably with Buddy who asks “How were your travels.” 

From threats of being eaten, to freeing other insects and interacting with the world, Walk the Frog seems like a welcome escape game to play without any worries or stress. To get a taste of the world of Walk the Frog, a demo is available on Steam currently before its release on May 21st.
