Last week, voice actress Hellena Taylor took to Twitter to share her reasons why she wasn’t returning to voice Bayonetta in the third game. Taylor felt that the low offer she was presented for her time was not adequate enough for everything she gave to the game and the fans. The next day, new report revealed that she was offered more for her to return. Now Taylor has released a series of tweets clarifying those reports and what she originally said in her video thread before.
Hellena Taylor says that she was originally offered $10,000 in total. As she notes, “remember this is 450 million dollar franchise, (not counting merchandise.)” She wrote to Game Director Hideki Kamiya asking for what she was worth. ” I thought that as a creative, he would understand. He replied saying how much he valued my contribution to the game and how much the fans wanted me to voice the game. I was then offered an extra $5,0000!”
Taylor disputes some of the things that has been reported such as asking for $250,000 dollars. “I am a team player. I was just asking for a fair, living wage in line with the value that I bring to this game.”
