Rami Ismali from Vlambeer, the Dutch company behind Nuclear Throne, is creating an indie game project focused on a large variety of small games. Titled Meditations, the new project from the co-founder of Vlambeer is a launcher that lets users play a short new game everyday.
On the launcher’s website, the project is described as a launcher that offers a short, unique game everyday along with some accompanying text “as a meditation, distraction, lesson, or inspiration for that day.” The games that will be playable take only a few minutes to play and come from a variety of a hundred or so developers Rami worked with last year. The games reportedly cover a wide variety of styles, genres, and topics, ranging from small puzzles and platformers to serious games about things like life, loss, and happiness. The first of these games, which can be played right now, is Tak’s Tempres, which is the game that inspired this project.
Each game is only available for the day it was unlocked for, changing over at the end of the day (GMT timezone). If you miss a day, it’ll be available on the same day next year. It’s not 100% certain what it’ll do about leap years, but it looks like a very interesting project nonetheless.
Meditations will launch you a new game every day, inspired by that day, only on that day. There's all sorts of games in here, from curious small puzzle games and challenging little platformers to personal games about life and loss and happiness and love and death and everything.
