Valve, the American video game developer, appears to be working on new multiplayer game called Deadlock, which seems to be a hero shooter. A lot of the initial information about Valve’s new game, Deadlock, was leaked. It was shared by the X user GabeFollower, but now Insider Gaming has reignited the discussion by publishing further information on the game.
According to Insider Gaming, The game is a 6v6 third-person hero-based shooter with 19 heroes, including magicians, robots, creatures, and humans, each with unique abilities and playstyles similar to a MOBA (ranged, healers, tanks, assassins, etc.).
Gameplay involves killing enemies and creeps to collect souls, the in-game currency used to buy items to strengthen heroes. Souls are collected by shooting at them, with a small amount awarded for floating souls.
Creeps spawn randomly on the map, including a larger AI boss in the center. Additionally, players can deposit spirit urns in the middle of the map to provide the entire team with more souls, with the urn carrier visible on the minimap. The game is described as similar to DOTA in gameplay loop and mechanics.
The X post featured a bit more content, with four pictures allegedly from a video game showcasing characters battling in a city reminiscent of better games.
Some people on the internet have suggested that one character looks like the Sniper from Team Fortress 2. Another image features a hero named Grey Talon, showcasing their weapon, special abilities, and a brief description.
The tutorial menu covered gameplay basics, special moves, and match objectives, all of which suggest a rather generic and unremarkable game. This makes the leaks particularly disappointing.
