Valve Announces Their Gaming Manifesto

Valve has announced that, despite the imminent arrival of its new console, they will never produce exclusive content.

Other than being the producers of some incredible games, Valve is also a big supporter of video game culture; representatives insist that they encourage gaming across all venues and platforms, the steam OS will just be another stage through which players can engage in a different reality.

This sort of business model seems relatively unheard of within the console/pc world. Players compete for the adoration of others and companies fight tooth and nail for a spot in the light. It’s all competition. Yet Valve, an outlier, stands at the edge and states simply “Hey. We just love games.”

This is good news for those devoted to their PlayStations or Xbox’s as it simply means that if and when say, Half Life 3 is released, they will have the opportunity to play the game as well.

The representatives went onto mention, during an interview with IGN, that “Whenever we talk to third-party partners, we encourage them to put their games in as many places as possible. Including not on our platforms.”

Also discussed was how they know their customers are broad and far-spread, and they simply want to get the games to wherever the customers are.

So we’ll wait with baited breath behind the controllers of our chosen platform awaiting Half Life 3’s release.
