Job J Stauffer, the Head of Creative Communications at Telltale Games, recently posted some tweets regarding the upcoming third episode of the third season of The Walking Dead game, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. The first two episodes of this season were released simultaneously on December 20 and were both received generally positively. With some more recent Telltale series, such as Batman and The Walking Dead: Michonne, releasing new episodes every month (as opposed to every other month, which was more or less their schedule before), fans have been hoping that episode three will be out by the end of January. However, it is also understandable if the schedule gets pushed back a little bit due to two episodes coming out at the same time at the season premiere.
Stauffer confirmed via Twitter that episode three will not be coming out in January, but went on to say that hopefully they will have some news about the episode (maybe a release date?) in February. He then also said that episode three will be a big one and “worth the wait.” This may be addressing the most common criticism of the first two episodes, which was that both seemed too short. Whereas episodes from the first season of The Walking Dead could take two hours each, sometimes longer, to play through, the first two episodes from this season could be played in about an hour each.
.@pierresemaan1 won’t be this month, should let folks down easy on that – but we hope to have news in February. Big episode! Worth the wait.

In another tweet, Stauffer said that Clementine, one of the main characters, will have a scene in episode three that “literally broke” him. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before episode three is out and we can all have our hearts wrenched by Telltale again.
