Total War: PHARAOH will be receiving a significant free update, according to SEGA Europe Limited and Creative Assembly Ltd.
The press release revealed that the new update will be adding new and familiar content from A Total War Saga: TROY including the addition of four new Mesopotamia factions Babylon, Assyria, Mycenae, and Troy. Players will be able to use 80 new units for these Mesopotamian factions in battle layer. The update will also expand the campaign map, adding the regions of Mesopotamia and Aegea.
Additionally, the games campaign will be updated to include new content and improve the existing playable content through implementing features like a Dynasty system, which adds mortality and succession to the faction leaders’ quest. That said, despite the changes, players will still be able to play Total War: PHARAOH’s original campaign.
Total War fans will be able get more information on the new content through “a series of blogs and Q&A’s” from the game’s development team starting next week.
Initially releasing in October 2023, Total War: PHAROH tasks players with leading Egypt through epic battles amidst the ancient Bronze Age as its last Pharoh. In total, the Total War franchise has sold over 42.5 million units sold, remaining one of the most critically acclaimed series in the industry.
Currently, the updates release date is unknown. That said, the with developers saying that it will be coming soon, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume later this year.
