The last glimpse of Hogwarts Legacy players had was from the September Playstation State of Play, where gameplay of the Slytherin Catacombs were shown. While the length of the upcoming showcase is currently unknown, it will more than likely be enough for people to sink their teeth into. Hosted by community guest host XpectoGO, the showcase will run a number of features fans have been eager to see, like touring Hogwarts Castle, the first look at the game’s UI and finally an in-depth look into Hogwarts Legacy’s character creator system.
While the excitement for Hogwarts Legacy is still going strong, the upcoming title’s existence remains contentious due to J.K Rowling still being tied to the Harry Potter franchise. The push to boycott the game is still going strong and as J.K Rowling continues to be put in the spotlight for her transphobic comments it continues to weather the patience of long-time Harry Potter fans. Regardless, there will always be a fanbase that is still loyal to the franchise. Hogwarts Legacy releases on February 10, 2023, for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version still in the works.
