As each season progresses, Fortnite maps change and evolve stage by stage over time. At the start of chapter 2, season 3, the current map was completely submerged in water with only high ground peaking out. Fortnite data miner VollMitBotox tweeted out what he claims the upcoming map will look like when water levels continue to recede.

Fans are confident in the revelation of more land, as new places like Salty Springs have already emerged from the water in the latest update. The leaked photo specifically reveals a new area called The Ruins on the northwest corner of the map. Fans seem to think this will be the Atlantean ruins; home of Aquaman who was featured in this season’s battle pass. Speculation continued when a Reddit user managed to find Aquaman’s trident on an isolated rock in the surrounding waters. This gives good reason to believe that a lot more Aquaman themed content is on the way.
Uhh I found something in replay mode I was in drone free and I went from spawn island to main island and found this aquaman trident at the shark what is it there for from r/FortNiteBR
This is all alleged at this point and no one knows for sure if these leaks are accurate nor if they represent the upcoming map in its current state. Plans could change or Epic Games could have had a totally different plan for the map entirely from the start. If the leak checks out though, players will be able to explore The Ruins and enjoy more Aquaman-theme content in the final stages of chapter 2 season 3’s map.
