Revealed last night at EVO Japan the latest addition to Guilty Gear Strive’s Season 4 is Unika. True to tradition there is literally nothing to say about Guilty Gear Strive’s “trailers”, it’s a 30 second clip that just shows her intro but from what’s officially available online Unika is a part-Gear time traveler from a dark timeline, who may or may not be Ky Kiske and Dizzy’s child from said timeline. Not too much to go on if you’re interested in gameplay details from official channels.

For those of you who have been keeping up with fighting game news, you’ll know that Guilty Gear Strive’s source code recently got leaked. There are a lot of implications for that but for now the main thing is that we have Unika gameplay with some basic BnB combos out there. Her full theme is even available online now if you want to give that a listen.

The source code leakage is a pretty big deal, there might be a bit of danger to users who log on to Guilty Gear Strive while this leak is going on, so I don’t recommend picking up Unika right away. Try to monitor the situation and, if the game is safe to play by the time of Unika’s release on May 27^th, 2025 then I would say you can check her out if she interests you.
