A new Star Wars Game, one that has yet to be announced, may have been leaked through the European PlayStation Store. The listing was spotted by PSN Releases, a Twitter account that monitors Sony’s online network and shows any game releases, updates, or in this case, leaked titles. The Star Wars game in question has the working title Project Maverick, and the only thing we have from this leak is the promotional art piece that PSN Releases also posted when they discovered the game.

In the above image, you can see the Star Wars motif with the Project Maverick title in the middle. In the background is a Star Destroyer with a few X-Wings flying towards it, with the implication being that they are preparing for combat. Since both of these crafts are from the original Star Wars trilogy era, it’s highly possible that the game could take place during this time. Electronic Arts (EA), who has the rights to the Star Wars video game license, has not made any official statement in regards to this leak.
It was discovered recently that EA actually canceled another Star Wars game, a spin-off to Battlefront II. In addition, we found out earlier that EA Motive was working on a “unique Star Wars experience” and that Respawn Entertainment posted new jobs listings for yet another entry for the franchise. Respawn is already very familiar with the series as they developed the highly acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which released last year.
With all of these recent developments within the EA family of video game studios, we may be in store for an official announcement much sooner than later. While we will almost certainly get something at this year’s E3, EA might have a teaser ready for us sometime beforehand thanks to this leak. Either way, we’re excited to see what this Project Maverick will end up being.
