Veteran Director and Script Writer Corey May is on the move. He started out at Ubisoft writing for games like Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia, but he has made the move to Novato, California to be a senior narrative director at 2K. He will be working on an unspecified project. 2K is most famous for its sports games, notably the annual NBA 2K series in which can play as any of the 30 NBA teams online or with friends.
May spent close to a decade working for Ubisoft Montreal, writing for the entire Assassin’s Creed series and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Not only does he write for video games, he is also a writer in the film industry through Sekretangent Productions. He is credited for working on The Plague, Sleeping Beauty, The Hunt and Dogs of Babel.
May previously joined independent developer Certain Affinity in 2015, which has written for video game staples Halo and Call of Duty. At the time, Certain Affinity said they were working during an “ambitious, new phase” and hiring May helped move the company from “helping others with AAA development to developing entire games on our own.” May called working for Certain Affinity a “once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Certain Affinity created maps for Halo 4, Halo: the Master Chief Collection, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Left 4 Dead. Certain Affinity was previously known for working on other developer’s games instead of their own, but recently they have also made their own games, such as Crimson Alliance and Age of Booty. The entire list of games that Certain Affinity has worked on and created can be seen at the company’s website, here. Other notable games on the list are Mafia 3 and Doom.
It is unknown what project May is working on with 2K, but Gamespot has said that they will report what that project is when the information has become available.
