It looks like Ubisoft is going to bring some of their original titles to the Steam platform on PC. The company has confirmed with Eurogamer that they will indeed be bringing some titles back to Steam, starting with one of their biggest titles in the past couple of years, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is slated to release for the platform on December 6. Prior to this, the title had been an Epic Games Store exclusive since it launched in November 2020, but that timed exclusivity seems to be at an end.
The game will be joined by other Ubisoft titles Anno 1800 and Roller Champions, albeit with an unspecified date. Roller Champions is the free-to-play titles 3v3 sports title launched back in May of this year for PC as well as several home consoles. Anno 1800 is a city-building simulator that released in 2019 and was made only for the PC platform. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be getting a final update on the day it releases for Steam. Dubbed the Last Chapter, the update will come with a free story epilogue that is intended to wrap up any remaining plot lines from the main story of the game.
Those who have been waiting on Steam for Ubisoft’s latest entry in the long-running franchise are in for a real treat. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was one of 2020’s most critically acclaimed titles and was nominated for several Game of the Year awards. It was also the first title in series history to make over $1 billion in revenue, which is no small feat for title that is part of a major media franchise. Ubisoft recently revealed the next entry in the series, Assassins Creed Mirage, which is due to release sometime in 2023.
