The game was originally slated to be released in February 2021, but unfortunately, the game was postponed due to Covid-19 related delays. Now, players can rest assured that the game will be coming later this year. In addition to the gameplay trailer, later in the day, Ubisoft also announced that the release date for the game will be October 7, 2021, for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Ps5, Amazon Luna, and Stadia.

From the video footage shown, Far Cry 6 will follow the story of Dani Rojas a young girl living in Yara a fictional island in the Caribbean. Growing up, Dani experienced the success and beauty of Yara, but as the leader of the country turns to violence and tyranny, Dani and other Yarans begin to revolt. They form the group the Libertad who uses guerilla warfare to fight against President Anton Castillo. Players will follow Dani and her story watching the revolution of the Yaran people unfold.
