Ubisoft Releases New Assassin’s Creed Origins Launch Trailer

It is a big release week for AAA games, with Assassin’s Creed Origins among the top titles fans are excited about. Ubisoft released a new launch trailer for the game, highlighting some of its new features, gorgeous graphics, and gameplay.

The trailer starts off showcasing what appears to be Bayek on Hieroglyphics, seamlessly transitioning into scenes of a hawk gracefully flying into the sky and a quick fight with a warrior. Bayek slides down pyramids, wanders around at night killing his targets, and even faces off against a massive elephant. Elephants will not be the only animal Bayek faces either, as certain side quests revolve around fighting wildlife such as hippos that terrorize local inhabitants. Bayek has an ability that allows him to tame animals as well, making them follow him around and attack any of his enemies even if they are other animals.

As the trailer continues, other warriors are shown fighting in an arena setting which is most likely a part of the new horde mode introduced in the game. If players want to fight in more open surroundings, the game’s desert setting offers many unique environments to explore for both combat and adventure with rocky plains, waves of sand, and beautiful oases. No matter where players choose to fight, the graphic nature of the battles is clear, especially since Bayek’s clothing and weapons retain stains of blood from his fights.

The trailer also mentions the work of ‘Gods’ or ‘Isu’ playing part in the story line, and the giant Anubis-like creature seen rising up from the sands is most likely related to myths, legends, and religious aspects in the game. The official website does not give much insight as to whether or not all the myths and legends will be closely related to Egyptian culture, but prominent cultural and historical figures will appear in the game such as Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, and Ptolemy XIII.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be officially released on October 27 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
