Ubisoft is Considering a Separate Queue for Solo Players in Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six Siege primarily offers a 5v5 competitive experience. The nature of the game heavily lends itself to teamwork among team members. While the game shines with full fleshed and cohesive teams, players that play the game solo often suffer against teams that benefit from communication and coordination. A common fix that players have offered up is the development of a new queue just for players that play solo. Ubisoft openly said they are considering the option via a tweet from the Rainbow Six Siege Twitter page.

The segregated queues will pair off solo players into random teams where neither side will be able to benefit team cohesion that has built from previous games. Solo players can still benefit from communication, if the players all have microphones. Apparently, Ubisoft has been considering implementing the segregated queue. The Rainbow Six Siege community is not unanimous with their support of the split queue idea.

Despite Rainbow Six Siege reaching an all time high for player count, the community has voice concerns that dividing the community will lead to longer matchmaking times, with waiting times being exorbitantly long for players that have small servers in their regions. Another concern is dividing the player base. This is something that Ubisoft has actively tried to avoid in the past and will try to avoid again with the leap to the next generation of consoles.

It is not yet confirmed if the split queues will be implemented as of yet, and Ubisoft is working on the year 5 and 6 updates for Rainbow Six Siege. The new updates and character balancing will probably be Ubisoft’s focus with Rainbow Six Siege for the immediate future as the newest update not only adds two new characters to play as but also a battle pass system. Ubisoft has also been reworking some of their characters to make them a more viable option in the competitive and ranked play as well as a new event to play.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
