After its initial announcement in 2017, Ubisoft has officially announced the release date for their upcoming action-adventure game Skull & Bones in a recent spotlight on July 7, 2o22. Since its first announcement in 2017, Skull & Bones has suffered delay after delay, with many fans wondering if the game would ever be released. Thankfully, it appears that fans will finally be able to see this game come into fruition.
Skull & Bones is an action-adventure video game set in the Second Golden Age of Piracy. Players will traverse the treacherous waters of the Indian Ocean as they grow from a simple outcast to a feared pirate captain. Sail a variety of ships, each with their own unique play styles, customizing weapons and armor with the resources you find from your travels. Build and manage the moral of your crew as you explore the world and fight through thrilling naval battles.
While it can be enjoyed as a solo experience, Skull & Bones is not a narrative-focused game, with its main feature being its immersive naval combat built up from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Skull & Bones is a live service game with multiplayer in mind. Players can team up with friends and rule the high seas together or with other unknown pirates you might encounter within the sea. Players can also engage in combat with other players with either PvE only or PvEvP.
Jump into the high seas when Skull & Bones launches on November 8th, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, and Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store. Unfortunately, according to price listings on the PlayStation store, Skull & Bones standard edition will be priced at $70. Its premium edition will be priced even higher, at $100, including The Ballad of Bloody Bones Collection, two extra missions, a digital art book and soundtrack, and more. These higher prices are slowly becoming the new reality of the AAA games of the future.
Pre-orders for Skull and Bones are available now, which will unlock the Highness of the High Sea Pack that includes the Notoriety Garb and Coronation Firework. For players who can’t wait for the release date, you can register to be a part of the game’s live tests which you can sign up for on their website.
