Two new trailers have been released today focusing on Apex Legends Season 2. The new season, which starts on July 2, will bring changes to the map, new content, and even a brand new Champion, Wattson. The first trailer highlights the story changes coming with Season 2: Battle Charge, while the second brings more focus on the new modes, weapons, and changes to Kings Canyon. We’ll start with the Cinematic Trailer, courtesy of IGN.
The trailer begins with some of the characters you know and love, including Gibraltar, Bangalore, and the more recent Octane, fighting to become the Apex Champion. All the while, an unidentified hacker is hoping to unleash chaos upon Kings Canyon with an EMP, a venture proved successful when the repulsor tower falls. As the tower falls, Flyers and Leviathans, who some will remember from the Titanfall games, are unleashed in the canyon. Players will now not only have to deal with enemies in the arena, but the hazards presented by the prehistoric-looking creatures.
While the first trailer does a great job of setting up the scene for Season 2, the second nails it home with the meat of it all. Most apparent in the trailer are the changes to Kings Canyon. After the EMP destroys the tower, the land is not only overrun with strange new creatures but also a coating of lush greenery amidst the existing, now crumbling, structures. New base camps have also popped up in an attempt to contain the situation, so players may not be able to rely on familiar routes in their matches.
Also featured in the trailer is the brand new weapon coming in Season 2, the plasma-based L-Star. New legendary skins are also on the way for weapons, such as the Spitfire and R-301, as well as Champions like Caustic and Octane. Ranked Leagues are being introduced in the new season as well, giving players a bit more than bragging rights for proving they’re the best.
Apex Legends Season 2: Battle Charge drops on July 2, so get your practice in now for a leg up in the race to be an Apex Predator.
