Two Diablo IV Expansions Are Already in Development

After a fairly long and hotly anticipated wait, Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo IV is finally here. The game officially launched this week, with an additional early access going out over the weekend, and the fan base has been showing their support with many speed runs already taking place. Of course the endgame is where the real meat of the title exists in the Diablo franchise, something that Senior Vice President Rod Fergusson knows all too well on. Speaking in an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Fergusson states that the Diablo IV development team is already working on not one, but two expansion sets for the title as we speak.

Fergusson did this interview just before the game launched, which shows the foresight that he and the team knew that they’d need when going forward with post launch content for Diablo IV. “We’re working on expansion one, we’re kicking off expansion two…we’re working on that now and we haven’t even launched the game.” he said. Fergusson also added that the seasonal updates and quality of life content for the title will be much higher than Diablo III ever had.

Considering that the latter had years and years of different seasons with a plethora of new content, we can’t even begin to imagine what the team has in store for Diablo IV in terms of new seasons and other content drops. The game is already being lauded as one of the year’s best, scoring high with critics and being generally well received. When the game had it’s first early access beta back in March, with more than one million players delving into the franchises newest offering. When all is said and done, Diablo IV just might be one of Blizzard’s best newest entries in years.

Diablo IV is now available for PC through Battle.net, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/Series S, and Xbox One.
