Twitch has announced it will be the “official live streaming partner” for E3 next week. This role includes them streaming press conferences and E3 news on the game streaming website.
At a glance, the list of scheduled broadcasts show many “unannounced” time slots from studios like Bethesda, Square Enix and Crytek. Of course, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo “unannounced” announcements are included in the list. The detailed list is enough for one to plan a day and pick out what is going to be worth their time.
Monday June 9 events are reserved for the Microsoft Media Briefing at 9:30 am and the PlayStation Press Conference at 6 pm. Tuesday June 10 is dedicated to Nintendo’s Digital Event at 9 am and the Smash Bros. Invitational. June 11 and 12 will be a list of many 3rd party games.
“In addition to featuring a full slate of games each day from marquee publishers, all of the major press conferences will be broadcast on Twitch at www.twitch.tv/E3,” says a press release posted on Joystiq. “This year’s schedule marks an E3 milestone for the brand in terms of the quantity and quality of featured content.”
A Twitch booth from the show will allow E3 attenders to watch the filming as is happens. Twitch host Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, Jon Carnage, Jordan “Soma” Tayer, Swiftor, MANvsGAME, Seltzer_FD, and TheJustinFlynn are going to be broadcasters for the E3 event.
Jon Carnage, the Content Director for Twitch, says in the press post “Twitch has become the epicenter for publishers and developers who want to connect with them.”
“[T]his will be our most robust E3 presence to date,” he says. “It also ensures that every living room has a window into all the major news and games revealed at the show.”
This years’ E3 is the start if a three year partnership between the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and Twitch. With 45 million visits each month, Twitch’s increased presence in the most eyed video game news event looks to be a no brainier for ESA and Twitch.
