Homestar Runner, the long running internet cartoon series, has made quite the comeback since its hiatus in 2010. With renewed interested from the past few years, the internet series made a splash when it was announced that it would be at PAX East 2018. Even better, though, is that the future for Homestar Runner will lie with a board game that is being worked on. That board game will feature none other than the burninator himself, Trogdor.
At the event, Matt and Mike Chapman, the creators of Homestar Runner, discussed their latest project for their internet series, a Trogdor Boardgame. While still in its early phases, the game is playable, and some fans even got the chance to playtest the board game. The whole fiasco was hosted by Matt Chapman, and he even had a Strongbad puppet that he roleplayed as during the playtest.

The game itself has players cooperating together to move Trogdor around a grid, dubbed the Fields of Peasantry, in order to burninate land, cottages, and peasants while avoiding being defeated by the local knights and archer. According to first hand accounts of the playtest, the rules are simple, but there is a lot of information to take in at once. Some claim that although it was a bit confusing, it was still fun, and the potential is there to make a memorable game. In addition, it appears that it is a bit hard to win, but the playtest will definitely help to tweak things like this for the future.
While the Trogdor board game is still somewhat illusive to most outside of those who attended PAX East 2018, a Kickstarter for the board game might be planned for the near future. It is rumored that the potential Kickstarter would be put up sometime in the next two months. If the fundraiser does go live, then more information will come with it. In addition, the rules for how to play will most likely be cleared up as well.
