Treyarch Responded on Twitter Regarding on the Possible Mod Gameplay for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 does not yet have a fully developed mod, even though the previous Black Ops 3 did not completely align the mod with the core gameplay either. However, in a tweet, fans asked about the mod of Call of Duty 15, or Black Ops 4, to which Treyarch responded, “We’ve repeatedly commented on our huge fandom for the mod community, and it’s something we’ll be looking at, but won’t be at launch.”

Treyarch owns Beenox studio, which has developed Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions and Spiderman: Edge of Time, so it would be the right decision for this studio to specifically assist with the PC version of the mod problem. Moreover, this time, Black Ops 4 has a lot of places that are very suitable for the mod, considering that it has not only a traditional multiplayer mode but also a Blackout mode that takes advantage of the recent Battle Royale craze.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 opened the beta of the big battle royale mode Blackout last week, attracting the attention of many players. The combination of the new way to play and Call of Duty‘s  traditional fast-paced gun battles has made the promising new mode both fierce and intense.

In the trailer, we can see that in the Black Ops 4’s “PUBG” mode, the player can directly use the paraglider to float to other players’ vehicles, complete the kill from the rear window of the vehicle, or drive the helicopter to the wind-power tower. Slam the players below, and you can even shoot to kill. At the same time, players can also use paragliders, hooks, helicopters and other props or vehicles to achieve a more flexible fighting style. It can also be said that the Black Ops 4 Blackout mode has also made many novel and interesting innovations in the gameplay.

Although it does not seem to be clear from the tweet that the official game will provide strong support for the mod, the team this time did do a lot of work on the PC version. Since they said they would carefully consider the matter, maybe it’ll translate to better mod support.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12.
