A new trailer has been released by IcePickLodge for Pathologic 3, and it appears to focus on a gameplay mechanic that will be implemented for the first time in the game series, and it’s called amalgama. Based on what was shown in the trailer, this mechanic will allow the player to go both back in time, and into the future. This will be very useful for the character gamers get to control, as the game is a first-person RPG of a doctor named Daniil Dankovsky. Looking more specifically at the plot the game looks to follow and the role Dankovsky will play, IcePickLodge said ”His search for the secret of immortality brings him to a remote town, gripped by a mysterious plague that will destroy it in 12 days”.
This follows a similar model to the previous two Pathologic games, as they also focused on saving a plague-infected town. Along with being an RPG game, Pathologic 3 is also a horror game, which can be seen with what appeared to be either undead people, or ghosts near the end of the trailer. In the trailer it is referenced that you will use amalgama to fix the mistakes of others, but also at the end, it seems you may use them to fix the mistakes of Dr. Dankovsky’s past. This could be about events from the previous games, or something that occurs within this installment. The game is set to release sometime this year, and will be available on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Some people are very excited about this new Pathologic game, as can be seen with the tweet below.
