Trailer For Upcoming Game, The Last General, Released

An upcoming game titled The Last General got what appears to be its first official trailer just a few days ago. The Last General, which is both developed and published by Wakety, is set for a 2026 release, though a specific date was not given. It also seems that the game will be exclusively for PC users, as at the end of the trailer, only a wishlist for Steam was shown, as opposed to consoles such as Xbox or Playstation. Also, looking deeper into the history of the developer and publisher of The Last General, it appears this will be the debut project for Wakety. As can be expected based on the name, The Last General will be a war game, and it will have a focus on strategy, realism, and tactics. When it comes to what gamers will specifically be engaged in, Wakety said:

Fight in deathmatch conflicts, insurrections, assassinations, protection, rescue, escape, and survival missions.

Featured in the trailer for The Last General are the use of real life military equipment and weapons, such as tanks, fighter jets, drones, and helicopters. The trailer highlights the strategy style aspects that will clearly be in the game, with players being able to make decisions on specific areas they want to attack, along with areas they want to fortify. Also of note in the trailer, is a scene where the gamer is able to take over a specific soldier in battle, which goes to show that it will not be only a simulation-style strategy game, but also a game that allows the player to engage in the conflict. Due to Wakey being a new game developer and publisher, there has not been significant traction on social media for The Last General, but those who have seen their work are looking forward to the release of the game following this trailer.

Here is the trailer:

Michael Hodges: Hi, I’m Michael and I have been playing video games since I was a little kid. I really enjoy open world games such as Grand Theft Auto, along with sports games, such as Madden. I am majoring in Journalism at the University of Wingate, and I hope to bring gaming news to you in an interesting and fun format.
