Today, during the Summer Game Fest, a trailer for Game of Thrones: War of Westeros was revealed. The game, which was both developed and published by Play Side, will launch in 2026, and is currently available for preorder on Steam. This will be the 13th installment of a Game of Thrones video game, and the first since 2024. Something of note is that in the trailer, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S were not mentioned as options to pre-order, so we will see if the game will ever be available for console users.

There will be both an option to play the game solo and with friends in what is described as a ‘’free-for-all’’ multiplayer. As can be expected, the game will also have many references to the real life TV series, including memorable characters and locations. Along with being a medieval style game, it will also be a strategic game, as Play Side said ‘’Command the Great Houses in epic real-time strategy battles, forge strategic alliances, or weave deceit against your rivals’’. Many fans seem to be very excited for Game of Thrones: War of Westeros as can be seen with the tweets below.

Michael Hodges: Hi, I’m Michael and I have been playing video games since I was a little kid. I really enjoy open world games such as Grand Theft Auto, along with sports games, such as Madden. I am majoring in Journalism at the University of Wingate, and I hope to bring gaming news to you in an interesting and fun format.
