A trailer for an upcoming game has dropped from seemingly out of nowhere. Before this, the unknown studio of Dreamlit Entertainment had not made itself known. The indie developers have released a prototype trailer for their game simply titled, Towers. The trailer itself shows mechanics and art styles that beautifully combine elements of beloved games like Monster Hunter and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Check out the recent trailer here, which highlights clips of the work-in-progress build of Towers as of today:
Dreamlit Entertainment has dedicated a team of six independent developers that have worked on Towers over a time period of 12 months. With only the trailer and game’s website to branch off of, Towers is described purely as “a fantastical world full of mysteries and wonders for players to explore and build, together. Along with that statement and the game’s motto, “Explore. Build. Defend. Together,” it’s clear that multiplayer with friends and some aspect of base building will be a large part of Towers. It’s not established how large this unknown world will be, but it’s environment will differ from deserts to plush mountainsides.
The strange creatures are also shown to us right out of the gate in the prototype trailer, large and small. The attention to detail on these creatures and the natural surroundings are breathtaking and attest to the talent behind this small studio. The most welcome travel piece that we know we will be able to utilize is a hang glider, similar to that of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, overlooking a gorgeous landscape. This quickly transitions into a friend hang gliding right next to the main player, which hopefully confirms the multiplayer aspect that has been teased. Players will be able to traverse the detailed world by swimming, riding mounts, and climbing trees, which look almost like player-owned treehouses.
Every character shown wears a mask, so we do not know as of yet the identity of the individuals that characters will be controlling or if there is character creation. But they will work together in mining, fishing, planting, hunting, building magnificent societies, and fighting dark and machine-like entities. There is no stated release or Beta date or what platforms that Towers will be launching on, but this is a welcome surprise that will no doubt excite the gaming community for what’s next.
