Torchlight III Will Officially Launch on October 13, Coming to Nintendo Switch Later

Torchlight III was given the Early Access treatment this past Summer, and it looks like Echtra Game is finally getting full release ready for everyone. The studio has announced the official launch date for the title, and it’s very soon, this month in fact. Torchlight III will exit Early Access and fully release on October 13 for PC through Steam as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The studio also mentioned that the game will still be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year, although that still doesn’t have a release date.

According to the developers, Torchlight III will retain all of the series signature mechanics, which includes the standard hack-n-slash style, offline-single player, online 4-player mode, and the beloved pet system. The game will also be taking place approximately 100 years after its predecessor Torchlight II, and will include four playable classes to choose from. The Dusk Mage, an enchanter who combines dark and light energy, Forged, a powerful robot who utilizes different types of weapons, Railmaster, a “locomotive savvy powerhouse” who apparently has a rather powerful train at their disposal, and the Sharpshooter, a lightweight character that uses abilities to take out enemies from far away.

Going further into the pet aspects, each respective console for the game will receive an exclusive fairy pet. The PC version (Steam) will get a Violet Glittersprite, Xbox One gets the Verdant Glittersprite, PlayStation 4 will obtain the Azure Glittersprite, and when the Nintendo Switch iteration launches it will have the Ashen Glittersprite. Torchlight III will also contain special power up Relics, some of which have special unique abilities indlucing the Bane, which summons spiders and deadly poison, and Coldheart, where you can freeze, slow, or stop enemies in their tracks.

Torchlight III will officially exit Early Access and launch on October 13 for PC through steam, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch version will be released later this year.
