As Madden continues to announce the top players at different positions throughout the week, they have now announced the top ten edge rushers coming to Madden 23 after already releasing both receivers and running backs. Arguably the most important position on defense, the edge rushers listed below all have a major impact on their team’s success.
The highest overall edge rusher in Madden 23 is Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns, who will begin the game listed as a 99 overall. Garrett is the only edge rusher to be included in Madden’s 99 overall club that features just a handful of players each season. Garrett is an incredible player on defense and will be looking to lead the Browns back to the playoffs this coming season after missing them most recently.
T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the second highest-rated edge rusher and begins the game as a 96 overall. Watt had an electric season where he recorded 22.5 sacks and a total of 64 sacks.
The third highest-rated edge rusher in Madden 23 is Nick Bosa. Although both of the Bosa brothers made the list, Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers will be rated slightly higher at a 94 overall. Bosa was elite on defense and helped lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship game.
Von Miller of the Buffalo Bills and Khalil Mack of the Los Angeles Chargers take up the next two spots and are each going to be rated a 92 overall. Von Miller is coming off a season where he played a key role in bringing a Super Bowl to the Los Angeles Rams, and will be looking to continue with his success as a member of the Bills. Khalil Mack also switched teams this offseason when he was traded from the Chicago Bears to the Los Angeles Chargers. Mack is coming off a season where he recorded six sacks and fifteen total tackles in just seven games.
The sixth highest-rated edge rusher in Madden 23 is be a tie between Joey Bosa and Cameron Jordan, who are each a 91 overall. Bosa is a member of the Los Angeles Chargers and finished last season with 10.5 sacks in 16 games played. Cameron Jordan also had a great year defensively for the New Orleans Saints, where he finished with 12 sacks and 59 total tackles.
Tied for the eighth best overall edge rusher are DeMarcus Lawrence and Chandler Jones. Lawrence recorded 21 tackles in just seven games but helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to the playoffs this past season. Jones also helped lead his team, the Arizona Cardinals, to the playoffs and recorded 41 total tackles in 15 games played.
Finally, the tenth highest-rated edge rusher is Rashan Gary of the Green Bay Packers, who begins the game listed as an 89 overall. Rashan Gary was one of the main defensive players on the 13-4 Packers. Coming into this season, Gary will be looking to build off of his success and potentially win a Super Bowl with the Packers.
