Today, Activision has announced the release date for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 for Nintendo Switch. The faithful remaster of the first two iconic games in the franchise will be coming to the Switch for the first time on June 25. The game was originally released last year for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Then, earlier this year, the game was made available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with some next-gen upgrades. When it was announced that it would be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it was also announced for Nintendo Switch but no release date was given until now.
As the fastest Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game to sell 1 million units on previously released platforms, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 blends all the original levels, pro skaters, old-school tricks, a killer soundtrack with old and new beats, and more that gamers remember from the ’90s and ’00s with new, beautifully created levels.
Next-gen upgrades for the game include 120 FPS at 1080p, native 4K at 60 FPS, sharper dynamic shadows, reflections, lens flares, enhanced skater textures, and more. The Nintendo Switch version will not have these upgrades and enhancements but the game will include both online and two-player local multiplayer.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was developer Vicarious Vision’s last game before they officially became part of Blizzard which means going forward, they will only be working on Blizzard titles. Currently, they are working on Diablo II: Resurrected, a full HD remake of Diablo II.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will not be the only game that releases on June 25. Also coming out that day is the next Mario sports title, Mario Golf Super Rush. The game will be utilizing the Joy-Cons to act as a golf club and will feature a story mode that has players use a Mii character. This character will come with stats that can be upgraded over time.
