Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Brings Back Miis on April 16th

Nintendo Directs for specific games are a rare and exciting event for fans of the given series. This is especially true for franchises that with less common releases from the company. Such is the case with the latest Nintendo Direct for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Ever since the release of the first game in 2013 for the 3DS, fans have been eagerly awaiting to hear more from the series. The direct delivered everything that was asked of it, giving over 20 minutes of information about the new title.

The direct begins by reintroducing viewers to Miis, the customizable Nintendo characters from the previous decade. The Miis are given more options in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream than any previous game, with multiple unique characters being created to show off the feature. Once all the characters are placed, the trailer shows off how the Miis interact and how the player can guide those meetings. This can range from friendships to romantic relationships. The conversations can also include custom topics typed by the player and spoke aloud through the text-to-speech system the characters speak in. In addition to relationships, the individual characters can also be given quirks that change their behavior or preferences.

The presentation also shows off the various costumes for the characters in different situations. These go hand-in-hand with the room customization offered, able to transform a room into a store or haunted house. Various other buildings will also be available, letting players take pictures of their characters and purchase items to be placed around the island. To top off the customization, players will also be able to draw patterns and create items to add individualized personality to any object.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, promises to bring together some of the most beloved features from its predecessors. Players will have the chance to build their own island and characters when the game releases for the Switch on April 16th.
