Contrary to most games being released today, Titanfall 2 will be releasing DLC maps and game modes free of cost. Today on Twitter, there was a jab taken at triple A games that require players to purchase season passes to get content.
As they have announced in the past, players will not need to put out any more money once the game is released. They wanted to give players content free of charge as part of buying the game to begin with. Respawn made this decision and chalked it up to not them not wanting to split up the community.
In a blog post Respawn stated that, “This means once you’ve purchased Titanfall 2, your investment includes a full single player campaign, the full multiplayer maps and modes, and long-term support with no hidden costs.”
Remember when buying a game got you everything?

With so many companies now requiring the purchase of a season pass for DLC, it stands out when someone doesn’t. Microsoft also made this decision with Halo 5: Guardians and have kept that promise as new DLC comes out even today, a year after the games release. Halo 5: Guardians does however have some paid content, although its is unclear as to whether Titanfall 2 will do the same.
The first DLC to be put out by Respawn will be a remastered version of one of Titanfall’s original maps Angel City. The first DLC is planned to be released sometime in December, with players who pre ordered being granted with three day early access.
Titanfall 2 will release tomorrow October 28th for Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox one.
