The Wiltern to Host Free Pokemon Go Party on July 27th

Pokemon Go is so popular it’s taking over concert venues. On Wednesday, July 27th, the famous Wiltern in Los Angeles is hosting a Pokemon Go meetup for trainers to go, play, have a few drinks, and catch a couple Pokemon.

Doors open at 6:00 PM

Happy Hour from 7:00 – 8:00

 

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome to participate. The event is being toted as the “Ultimate gym battle for the Wiltern”, so you can assume there will be trainers bringing their game face. Support your faction and wear your team colors; red for Valor, yellow for Instinct, and blue for Mystic. Even if you are too young to drink, there will be food and soft beverages served. Of course, there will be live music as well. If you drive (who doesn’t in LA), parking is available underground for $15. If you wish to reserve a spot, call 323-240-7060.

There were several successful meetups for the popular phone game in various cities around the country. Chicago recently had a massive gathering at the iconic Millennium Park, where thousands attended, even an Illinois State Representative. In Sacramento, a more subdued event was held, but still drawing a large crowd of Ash Ketchum impersonators.

Pokemon Go is succeeding at luring people out of their homes, and into public parks where they are meeting new friends and getting some fresh air. While some negative news has come out from robbers targeting players, the app has had overwhelmingly positive feedback due reintroducing active play and social interacting within our younger communities.
