The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Episode 4 Release Date Announced

Earlier this week, a Telltale employee stated that new information regarding The Walking Dead: A New Frontier would be coming this week. Well, now it’s later in the week and we have that information. Telltale Games posted on their various social medias that the fourth episode of A New Frontier, entitled “Thicker Than Water,” will be out this coming Tuesday, April 25th. Additionally, the trailer for the episode will be out tomorrow (April 20).

The rest of this article will contain minor SPOILERS for the first three episodes of A New Frontier and The Walking Dead: Season Two in an attempt to analyze the promotional poster that came with this announcement.

One thing that stands out on the poster is that Gabe is featured prominently on it. Gabe has kind of taken a back seat to the other characters for much of this season, so maybe this is a sign that he will have a bigger role in this episode. We also see David with a noose around his neck, so the player’s fight with The New Frontier may hit a dramatic climax in episode four. It may seem odd for the battle to reach its peak in episode four rather than the last episode of the season, but let’s not forget that the main villain in Season Two was killed in the third episode of that season, so who knows?

Also, if you look closely, you can see what appears to be Rufus in the bottom left corner of the poster. This is a character that the player had the choice to kill or let run away in the first episode, so that decision may come back to haunt players in this episode depending on what decision they made.

In thread on the Telltale website, a fan noted that the Steam file size of episode four is the biggest yet of this season at 3.4 GB (episode one was 3.38 GB, episode two was 2.12 GB and episode three was 3.27 GB). This could mean that the new episode will be the longest of the season (so far).

The first three episodes of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier are available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Android devices and iOS devices.
