When action RPG The Surge was released last year fans took a quick liking to it The difficult yet rewarding combat, customization, and combat system really seemed to leave a mark on players. Since then We’ve recently gotten a look at what developer Deck 13 has been up too after this past year.
During our extensive coverage at E3 2018 we were able to get a behind closed doors look at one of Focus Home Interactive’s next titles, The Surge 2. The upcoming sequel builds upon some of the defining features that the original game established. The game has improved upon it’s limb targeting system, armor crafting and customization, increased it’s weapon types by twice as much this go around, added new mechanics to it’s combat and many other features. The game takes place in a brand new environment that trumps the previous in size and scale. The combat has also been tweaked thanks to more abilities, implants, and other means of taking out hunters that seamlessly blend with the new and improved limb targeting system.
Desirable parts can be ripped right of hunters to add to your existing arsenal or to help build a complete new set. Also drones can now be customized with firearms such as pistols, riffles, and rocket launchers to further aid in combat. Within the environment players will not just have other dangerous hunters with valuable cloaking devices lurking around in plain sight setting up traps and ambushes but, also there are dangerous beast and gigantic and difficult foes teeming about that can tear players to pieces if they’re not careful or prepared. It Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive are looking to build upon everything that made Surge a success. Surge 2 is till deep in the development process but is currently slated to launch for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
