The Sims 4 News Live Stream Hints at a New Expansion Pack, Infants, and a Base Game Update

Developers for the Sims 4 had recently announced in live stream, major changes and new releases for the game. Teasing an expansion pack, updates on infants, and including a major base game update. One of the most exciting announcements was the future generation of the Sims.

Production Lead, Graham Nardone stated, “From the very first day of this project the object the team rallied around was to surpass play expectations for freeing the babies. Now our vision to accomplish that was to add infants as an entirely new age. Resulting in a much more natural progression through Sims’ early stages of life.”

Further, into the stream, they continue into detail about the animations, modeling, and voicing for the infants. Infants are coming with a new wardrobe for create-a-sim and new hairstyles. The developers have added social interactions for infants, including talking to older sims. The major update for infants is coming out on March 14th.

After the discussion on infants, the team released a four-second trailer hinting at the upcoming expansion pack. However, the team is releasing information and not the pack.

After the live stream, a base game update was released. Some of these changes include a light switch, and a new medical create a sim section. They added medical wearables like glucose monitors and hearing aids. Other items they had added are chest binders, shapewear, and top surgery scars in body scars. As well as the usual bug fixes.

Kayla Sims known as  “lilsimsie” on Youtube, had reviewed the update in a recent video stating, “I know for some of you these things might seem like, really small details, but these small details make a world of a difference to people. A lot of us are really lucky that we can super easily recreate ourselves in The Sims, but a lot of people don’t have that luxury. And the whole point of this game is to simulate life, and a lot of people in real life use hearing aids…. I really hope that this is a sign that they’re going to work on adding more things like that into the game.”

Moving forward, the world of gaming representation is alive and well, and being worked into the community. The adaptation of real-world situations is blending into gaming simulations making them more relatable and attentive to details at large.
