EVO 2018 will be starting this Friday, and it will run throughout the weekend to bring fans a whole weekend of the biggest fighting game tournament in the world. Each year brings more and more steep competition, and this year will be no different. Just a few days before the fighting begins, we now have an official schedule for the upcoming tournament and general event.
The fighting games that will be featured at this year’s EVO were already announced, but we now know which ones will be played at the massive Mandalay Bay Events Center, which game tournaments will conclude before the final day, and of course, all the starting times for the tournaments. According to the schedule, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Blaz Blue Cross Tag Battle, and Injustice 2 will have their tournaments conclude on Saturday, so they will not be featured on the big stage. On the flip side of things, Guilty Gear, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Street Fighter V will all be played on the biggest fighting game stage in the world. In addition, there will be plenty of talent at EVO 2018 to keep spectators entertained before, during, in-between, and after matches. Familiar faces, such as Fox, Majin Obama, Vikkikitty, Leo, Lee Chung, Scar, Toph, Prog, Ebonic Plague, D1, Yipes, James Chen, Mr. Aquaman, Xie, EE, TKbreezy, Vr, Vicious, and more, will be making their appearances during the tournament. In addition, select panels will be going on at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on Friday and Saturday of the event. While the times for the panels have not been announced yet, they will surely come within the next couple of days.
EVO 2018 will begin on August 2 at 12PM at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, and it will run until it finishes at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on August 4 around 9:30PM.
