The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 Port of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Has Been Delayed Until December

Square Enix has announced that one of their upcoming titles has been officially delayed. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 port of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will now launch on December 22. The announcement also comes a mere eight days before it was initially scheduled to release, which would have been September 29, next Wednesday. The reason for this delay is due to the developer needing to “improve the quality” of the title. The port is also included in the Valkyrie Elysium Deluxe Edition, and those whom pre-ordered it will still be entitled to Lenneth when it becomes available.

For those who don’t know, Valkyrie Profile:Lenneth is actually an updated port of the 2006 PlayStation Portable title of the same name. That PlayStation Portable title itself is also a port/remake of the original 1999 PlayStation title Valkyrie Profile, the title that started the entire franchise. It made some waves in the video game community at the time but was also lost in a massive sea of other JRPGs that were making some serious headlines, some of which came from Square Enix to boot. Regardless, the series persevered and is set to release its fifth mainline entry next week with Valkyrie Elysium

Speaking of Valkyrie Elysium, that game is also releasing on PC on November 11, albeit without Lenneth as a pre-order incentive. In fact, there are currently no plans for Square Enix to bring Lenneth to the PC platform, an unusual move considering that they’ve now brought over a vast majority of their JRPG titles to Steam alone in the past few years. Still, the fact remains that Lenneth‘s debut on the modern console market will now take place at a later date. As we already stated, those who pre-ordered the Valkyrie Elysium Deluxe Edition will still be able to download their copy of Lenneth when it launches on December 22.
