The Pathless, from Makers of ABZÛ, Revealed at the Game Awards

Another reveal trailer at the Game Awards, this time being The Pathless, the newest creation from publisher Annapurna Interactive, known for What Remains of Edith Finch, and Giant Squid Studios, creators of ABZÛ. Don’t be fooled by the charming art style and friendly winged companion, the game seems to feature some fearsome enemies (and strange looking ones at that). Players will use bow and arrow to take on larger-than-life foes in what is sure to be an absolutely stunning game.

The game seems to introduce an always-moving game mechanic, similar to those found on mobile games such as Temple Run. While seemingly different than those mobile games, if only by the fact that it will be on a much more grandiose scale than a mobile device, players will be tasked with hitting moving targets whilst running. Since the trailer was relatively short and devoid of much information other than art style and a glimpse of combat and traversal, more gameplay details remain unknown. It is entirely plausible that what we were shown during the World Premiere was only a fraction of what’s to come in The Pathless.

The game is slated for release in 2019, and will be available on the PS4. Check out the World Premiere trailer below:
