The Outer Worlds was first released 4 years ago back in 2019. Last year, a new version of the game was rated by the Taiwanese rating board coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Today, Obsidian Entertainment officially announced The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, which includes the base game and all of the add-on content plus all of the bells and whistles that comes with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be available for current-gen consoles and PC on March 7, 2023.
The Outer Worlds, players find themselves “lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the edge of the galaxy, you awake decades after your planned date only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the colony. Explore the various planets and locations of Halcyon, including the mysterious Gorgon Asteroid and the delightful distillery on Eridanos. As you encounter various factions, all vying for power, the decisions you make determine how the narrative unfolds.”
In addition to the base game and all the add-on content, Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Edition will feature better graphics, improved performance, additional animations, higher-res environments, and more. The level cap has been increased to 99 and the combat and companion AIs are smarter.
Players can upgrade to The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Edition within the same console familty or from the same PC store for $9.99 if they already have The Outer Worlds and both DLC. Otherwise, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Edition costs $59.99.
A sequel, The Outer Worlds 2, was announced back in 2021.
