It looks like the game Dead By Daylight had a busy day yesterday. Not only did the trailer for the new game Dead By Daylight-Chucky and update 7.4.0 drop yesterday but Dead By Daylight announced on X formally known as Twitter that 60 million players are playing Dead By Daylight. They also dropped “Special Livestream” for the game Dead By Daylight-Chucky yesterday as well.
Dead By Daylight is a multiplayer horror game where one of the players “plays the role of the killer” while the other players are trying to find a way to “escape” without being “killed” and or “caught”. The Dead By Daylight game was released in 2016 and was developed and published by Behavior Interactive Inc. The game can be played on platforms like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, mobile, Xbox Series X|S, and many more.
There have been many chapters of this game including Stranger Things, Alien, Nicholas Cage, and End Transmission. The newest chapter of this game is the Chucky Chapter. The Chucky Chapter was released at 12 pm yesterday along with the 7.4.o update. Along with the update and the new Chucky Chapter, there was also live stream on Twitch and YouTube where players were given a “behind the scene look, a breakdown of gameplay, outfits”, and so much more from the team behind Dead By Daylight-Chucky.
The game also brought some new stuff along with it. The Dead By Daylight-Chucky chapter comes with the Hidey-Ho Mode which allows Chucky to go “undetectable, and “generate Map-wide footfalls disorienting survivors”. A cool-down also comes with the Hidey-Ho mode. There are also special abilities such as the “Scamper and the Slice and dice”. For the special ability Scamper, Chucky is able to “scamper” underneath a pallet that is down or go “through a window” which allows him to swiftly “gain ground”. The Slice & Dice special ability, on the other hand, allows for Chucky in the Hidey-Ho mode to sprint and leap “forward to slice and dice survivors”.
Dead by Daylight-Chucky also comes with perks such as “Friend Til The End” where you the player “have an obsession with one Survivor”. “If you Hook the Obsession, random Survivor will scream, reveal their position, and become the Obsession”. There is also another perk called Hex: Two Can Play where a Survivor is able to “Stun or blind” you many times. The other perk is called “Batteries Included, and with this perk, you gain “Haste” when you are in the area of a “Completed Generator”. This new chapter also comes with an exclusive item, the “Good Guys Box Charm”. And don’t worry you will get the full Chucky experience because his bride Tiffany will also be in the game. “With the Friends ‘Til The End Collection” two outfits are featured for “The Good Guy” Chucky, and the “Good Gal” Outfit which will introduce Tiffany who will be voiced by the actress who voiced her in the movie, Jennifer Tilly while the “original voice actor” of Chucky, Brad Dourif will reprise the role of Chucky in the game.
The Hidey-Ho Mode and the perks are also included in the 7.4.0 update. In the 7.4.0 update, the Trickster had updates such as:
Movement speed increased from 4.4 m/s to 4.6 m/s, Removed recoil for throwing knives, Blade-ready movement speed: removed per-throw movement speed reduction, and Increase laceration meter from 6 to 8.
For the Trickster Add-ons, the updates included the “Memento Blades that increases the throw speed by 5%, Inferno Wires, which increases the duration of Main Event by 40%, the Ji-Woon’s Autograph that increases the time before a combo ends by 10%, and the Tequila Moonrock which increases the duration of Main Event by 60% “. The new update for “The Nemesis” “is a new animation” for whenever Survivors gives themselves vaccines. There are also perk updates and a map update where “The Mother’s Dwelling and The Temple of Purgation of the Red Forest Realm, have been reduced in size”. There were also graphic updates like “added support for FSR 1.0 on all platforms”, and some of the bugs that were fixed include:
an issue where The Wraith could earn progress towards the Tome 6 Ripple of Violence challenge when hitting a healthy survivor with the Blind Warrior – White add-on. An issue where the wrong music was playing for Jake Park’s Lucky Stroll Outfit, Bots no longer struggle to repair a Generator on a specific tile on The Game,and an issue that caused the animation for grabbing a Survivor from a Locker to not play properly when playing as The Nurse in a Trial.

In the midst of the new trailer and the new updates, Dead By Daylight also celebrated a milestone: 60 million Players are playing the game. Back in March of 2022, they announced in a post on X that the number of players was at 50 million. So it seems as though the number of players has gone up by 10 million since then. Dead By Daylight announced on Twitter yesterday that to celebrate this big moment for the game they are giving players the code “THANKYOUFOR60M” so that they can redeem 1M “Bloodpoints” along with “6K Shards”. Players are able to use the code until January 4th of next year. This game has been making big strides in the gaming world and it looks like it’s going to continue to thrive even more.
