Today, Blizzard revealed the massive new eleventh season for Diablo 4 through a news post and accompanying trailer. The new content is titled Season of Divine Intervention, focusing on an angel that seeks to protect mortals when it seems that Heaven has abandoned them. Players can look forward to updates to multiple game systems such as Tempering, Masterworking, enemy behavior, and elite enemies.
The new trailer for season eleven paints a bleak picture, with Azmodan and the Lesser Evils finding their way into the individual game modes. Players will have the chance to battle against Azmodan on their terms, determining what powers he will inherit from the Lesser Evils. In order to defeat the demonic threat, players are joined by a rogue angel named Hadriel. In his introduction, he laments the growing darkness and the limited opposition it has faced, swearing to help fight back against it. His defiance of Heaven will open an opportunity for the player to earn special Divine Gifts as they progress through the story of the new season.
Also of interest are the new changes being made by the new season to many of Diablo 4’s features. Tempering will be reworked to remove the randomness aspect of the process while Masterworking will allow players to upgrade an item’s quality. To coincide with the growing threat of the Lesser Evils, Blizzard has also stated that enemies will be made more intelligent, able to adapt to the player’s actions and act less predictably. The game also offers changes to the armor and healing systems of the game in addition to new bosses.
The Season of Divine Intervention for Diablo 4 has many players interested in how the new updates will impact the game. They will have the chance to receive Hadriel’s Divine Gifts when the new season begins on December 11th.
