The New Legacy Update Lets Players Enjoy Previous Versions Of Dead Cells

Fans of Dead Cells may be happy to hear that the newest update Dead Cells Legacy is out right now. According to Gamespot, the Legacy update allows players to enjoy every previous version of the game on their PC. Players can access the previous iterations of the game through Steam by right-clicking on the game and selecting “properties,” then the “Betas” tab. After that players will be able to select from any of the games previous versions.

Steam also released a blog post back on the 23rd of December announcing that the Legacy Update had been added and wishing everyone happy holidays.  In a Twitter post Motion Twin also stated that they fixed the “dreaded Steam Cloud save deletion Hellfest” so players’ save data should be safe now. The Legacy updates are only available on PC via Steam but Motion Twin has assured fans in a separate Tweet that the rest of the future Dead Cells content will be available on other platforms at a later date.

Motion Twin explained in their Steam blog post that the reason they created the Legacy Update was so that “interested players and future generations of developers could look back at how our little game developed and grew into the Action Game of the Year 2018.” This means that players will also be able to experience the nostalgia of playing all the previous versions of the game.

Back in early December, Motion Twin announced that new DLC will be coming for Dead Cells in the first financial quarter of 2020. The new DLC is titled “Bad Seed” and will feature several green locations available for access early in the game, as well as new weapons and new items. No new information is available regarding the DLC at the moment but players of Dead Cells via Steam can enjoy every current iteration right now.
